WHAT IS PROJECT TAKE ACTION?
Project Take Action is a movement set up to CHANGE THE LIVES IN YOUR COMMUNITY starting with our youth. Our mission is to INSPIRE, MOTIVATE, and HELP your community to find their passion and take action. PTA will be targeting urban schools, summer programs, and urban communities. We’ll be influencing them to make changes in their lives, improve their knowledge, and correct their mindset; in order for them to follow their passion which will increase their chances in becoming successful.
What We Will Do To Impact Our Youth
Our Motivational Moment will contain 30 minutes of motivational content, installing a mindset of “I can do It.” We will be motivating your community to find their passion and take action. Motivating the youth to make changes in their circle of influences no matter what they have been going through throughout their lives.
Keys to success
The Keys to Success is a 30-minute segment that will lay out the key steps that must be taken to ensure they reach success. We’ll cover topics such as the character you must have, the actions you must take, and how to surround yourself with the right people. We’ll discuss the adversity we went through and how we were able to get through them.
Live cooking Demonstration
Our free live demonstration will consist of a 20-30 minute cooking demonstration. This will allow them to see how we took our passion and made it a reality.
Our cooking class will help communication skills, build relationships, improve teamwork, grow their self-esteem, and creates a positive environment. The cooking classes will also allow them to set a goal, take action, and reap the benefits of the finished product; improving their confidence. For this service, we will waive the service fee. We do ask that you reimburse us for the ingredients used by the participating party.
PURPOSE BEHIND PROJECT TAKE ACTION
Every year, over 1.2 million students drop out of high school in the U.S alone according to the U.S. Department of Education. In 2010, 4,828 young people ages 10 to 24 were murdered in the urban community. Youth younger than age 15 accounted for more than one-fourth of all juvenile arrests. Juvenile females accounted for more than one-fifth (22%) of all simple assault arrests involving females in 2009, while male juveniles accounted for 15% of all simple assault arrests involving males. Pregnancy and birth are significant contributors to high school dropout rates among girls. Only about 50% of teen mothers receive a high school diploma by 22 years of age, whereas approximately 90% of women who do not give birth during adolescence graduate from high school. 1 out of 4 girls become pregnant before the age of 18 and 1 out of 6 girls have 2 kids before the age 20. In 2017, a total of 194,377 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a birth rate of 18.8 per 1,000 women in this age group.
